29th week of pregnancy – the majority of expectant mothers already gained weight from 6 to 9 kg. In this connection, as well as due to the increased uterus, there may happen such problems as dyspnea, indigestion, constipation and varicose veins.

The weight gain and compression of the inferior vena cava of the pelvis leads to disruption of blood flow to the lower extremities, external genitals and rectum. Because of these symptoms there may appear the varicose veins on the legs, genitals and hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids become the source of pain and bleeding, especially constipation.

For the prevention of thrombosis for those women who suffer from varicose veins of the legs, it is recommended to wear compression stockings. At the same time, on the advice of a doctor the expectant mother should take drugs that improve the condition of blood vessels and blood clotting.

The growing uterus rises to 29 cm. above the symphysis pubis, the skin of the anterior abdominal wall is stretching more and more. Most often, on the sides and bottom of belly stretch marks (striae) are formed. Special cosmetics for pregnant women – moisturizers and nourishing lotions will help to prevent the appearance of stretch marks.

From time to time reductions can be felt in the uterus, the so-called training Braxton Hicks contractions. The mammary glands may begin to produce colostrum, the “first milk” for the baby.
