Physical Therapy.

Many expectant mothers know the situation, when you wake up in the night experiencing a sharp pain in the ankle. Leg cramped! There are a lot of causes of such convulsions, here are several major ones:

  • lack of minerals (calcium, potassium, magnesium, vitamin B6);
  • low level of hemoglobin;
  • problems with the veins and blood vessels;
  • dehydration;
  • the syndrome of squeezed inferior vena cava, at which enlarged uterus puts pressure on the inferior vena cava and causes disturbance of the venous outflow in the legs.

Slowly and carefully, but strongly enough pull over the toes of leg, which is cramped with the aim to get rid of spasms. After that, relax your foot and pull it back. After the spasm has released, it is necessary to make an easy warming massage. You can also use the heating pad or hot water.

Another problem of many mothers at 26 weeks of gestation – is mucous discharge from the vagina. Starting from the 12th week of pregnancy, the discharge becomes more abundant due to the increase in progesterone. It is important that they have no odor, does not cause burning and itching. If the discharge has unpleasant odor and has the consistency of cottage cheese, this is the evidence of candidiasis (thrush).

It is imperative to treat the thrush during pregnancy. For this purpose a doctor prescribes systemic or topical medications. Since candidiasis infection occurs in the background of immunodeficiency, immunomodulatory drugs and bifidobacteria will be included to the treatment regime.

Overflow of bloodstream at this stage of pregnancy can cause such a thing as regular nosebleeds. Permanent loss of blood causes iron deficiency anemia. Despite the fact that iron deficiency anemia usually occurs not very hard, constant lack of oxygen arising at the same time may cause complications in the fetus. The weakened immune system may cause the development of caries and inflammation of the gums in the expectant mother (pregnancy gingivitis), whereby it is important to take good oral and dental care.
