If you have not stood on the account at the antenatal clinic during the last 6 weeks of pregnancy, it’s a good time to do it now.

Choose the consultation on the place of residence or near your work place so that it was convenient to get to it quickly. During your first visit to the gynecologist you will be examined and a doctor will give directions to the necessary tests and ultrasound examination. Sometimes, with the aim to diagnose pregnancy future moms make ultrasound examination before visiting the antenatal clinic, in this case, the following study is to be done at the 12th week of pregnancy.

Necessary tests when registering:

  • common urine examination;
  • general blood analysis;
  • blood typing analysis;
  • syphilis blood test;
  • analysis of viral hepatitis B and C;
  • blood tests for TORCH-infection (toxoplasmosis, mycoplasmosis, cytomegalovirus, herpes virus);
  • blood saccharum analysis;
  • blood coagulability analysis;
  • vaginal swab for microscopic examination.

Of course, it is not necessary to hand over all analyzes at once in a single day, however, the results of research should already be in the hands of the gynecologist till the next visit. A doctor draws a conclusion about your state of health and, in the case of some problems and concerns, suggests further tests.

During the first visit gynecologist will also measure your weight, blood pressure, inspect the condition of the skin, palpate the breasts, measure the size of the pelvis, and listen to the lungs and heart.
