When registering gynecologist carries out compulsory general inspection of a pregnant: measures weight, blood pressure, examines the condition of the skin, palpates the breast and thyroid, measures the size of the pelvis, listens to the lungs and heart. A doctor will ask questions about past illnesses, operations, allergies and specific reactions of your body.

- simple urine test;
- clinical blood analysis;

- syphilis and HIV blood tests;
- analysis for the diagnosis of viral hepatitis B and C;
- blood tests for TORCH-infection (toxoplasmosis, mycoplasmosis, cytomegalovirus, herpes virus);
- blood sugar test;
- blood coagulability test (coagulogram);
- vaginal smear for microscopic examination.
If your doctor has any concerns about the health of the pregnant woman, course of pregnancy and development of the baby, the expectant mother will have to undergo additional tests.
Also during the first visit to the gynecologist he directs future mother on a survey to a narrowly focused specialists: therapist, ophthalmologist, endocrinologist, cardiologist and an otolaryngologist, it is also necessary to make electrocardiogram.
To confirm the presence of pregnancy and to determine whether it is ectopic or not, to detect multiple pregnancies and to set the exact date of birth gynecologist may ask you to make an ultrasound examination.
