Vaginal discharge during pregnancy – is a normal physiological trait. However, it is not dangerous only when the discharge is light, without a sharp smell and is not very abundant. If they have become cheesy or mucous, they have a pungent smell – it can be a sign of genital tract infection.
Bloody discharge from the genital tract, irrespective of their nature (minor, moderate, or heavy), and abdominal pain may be a sign of placenta previa or abruption. In case of bloody discharge there is an urgent need to see a doctor.
Pay attention to the fact that there are no signs of premature rupture of membranes. Most often, waters leak and, if the expectant mother takes lying position. If she feels the liquid watery discharge from the genital tract after getting up, she should also seek medical advice.
